If you have some French language skills, a placement test is given before enrolment to choose the correct instruction level (complete beginners are not required to take a test). The placement test fee is $10.00, and is applied against the cost of the course when enrolling; the test is valid for 3 months. The $10 test fees is due upon booking an appointment, and is non-refundable upon cancellation. A 24 hours notice is required to reschedule an appointment.

A $30 non-refundable administrative fee is required at the time of the first yearly enrolment (valid Sept 1 to Aug 31). Full payment is required before the first day of class.

Family registration: the first member of the family pays full tuition fee. The second family member is entitled to a 10% discount, the third family member 15% (spouse, parents and children only).

If a student is forced to abandon a course before the middle of a session for reasons beyond his/her control, credit may be granted for the portion of the session remaining at the time a written notice of withdrawal is received by the Alliance Française.

Credits will automatically apply towards registration for another course. They cannot be transferred to another person and are valid for one year only.

If your payment is returned (e.g. a NSF cheque) it must be replaced with a certified cheque or cash, and an additional charge of $15 is levied.

No credit for unattended classes.
Fees are not refunded once classes have started. We require notice of withdrawal from a class at least five business days before a session starts. After such notification, we will issue a refund upon return of your original receipt and educational materials if not used.

No classes on Statutory Holidays and some School Holidays.
The Alliance Française reserves the right to divide, combine or cancel classes should it be deemed necessary. A minimum of 7 students is required to open a class, with a maximum of 12 or 14 students per class.
Please keep your receipt. A charge of $10.00 is levied to issue a new receipt.
