General information

 

From a self-service for students and teachers only, the library of Alliance Française de Vancouver has grown into a Documentation Centre on Contemporary France that houses a collection of more than 10 000 documents (magazines, novels, documentaries, comics, CDs, VHS, DVDs, CD-Roms) and offers free Internet access to members.


Whether you're learning French or you master the language of Molière, whether you're 3 years old or much older... thousands of items await you in this inviting space dedicated to readers.


  1. Always present your library card to borrow items.
  2. Members of the Alliance Française may borrow up to 10 items, including 4 videos. Family members may borrow 12 items, including 4 videos.
  3. The loan period is 15 days for videos and DVDs and 21 days for all other items. It is possibe to renew all items once for 21 more days except for VHS and DVD whose loan period is limited to 2 weeks.
  4. Fines will be levied on all overdue items and applicable to all categories of members. Outstanding fines must be settled before borrowing.
  5. You are responsible for the payment of damaged/lost items.
  6. Please be careful with your card. A $10 replacement fee will be levied for issuing a new card .

 

Fines : Book, magazine, CD : $0.50/day

Videos, DVD, CD-ROM : $1/day
