The French language has been an important part of my life since the age of ten. My family moved to Quebec City for a year specifically to learn French. Throughout my schooling, I always took French classes. I continued them as an adult, most recently at AF Vancouver. Although my courses took place several years ago, I am still in contact with former classmates and teachers.
I had a wonderful experience at AF and plan to enrol again in a few years. Currently, I am Vice President of Marketing and Channels for a fintech based in Vancouver. My entire career has been in technology. From time to time, I have the opportunity to use my French at work. My skills lie in sales, marketing and customer success. For the past 13 years, I've been a volunteer mentor for start-ups at New Ventures BC. I also have previous experience as a board member at MOSAIC and Junior Achievement in BC.
Learning and speaking French is a source of joy for me. I would be delighted to have the opportunity to contribute to AF as it embarks on this exciting new phase. The new building promises to become a vital part of francophone life in the Vancouver area. I'd love to help expand and diversify AF's reach.
