An active member of Alliance Française Vancouver since 1996, Marie-Claire first joined the Board of Directors in 2007.
She is passionate about building a new home for this historical Vancouver institution that plays a dynamic role in a global network of more than 800 Alliances Française around the world. Born, raised and educated in France, Marie-Claire sees AFV as a little bit of France on the West Coast of Canada. She has been devoting considerable energy and her signature determination to seeing AFV succeed and is tremendously proud of what has been accomplished to date, thanks to a fantastic team of staff members and volunteers.
Marie-Claire worked as a journalist and public relations consultant before switching to business management. She is currently Vice-President, Finance & Operations for Howard Employment Law, a boutique law firm that provides legal advice to employers and employees.
Marie-Claire studied Political Science at the University of Grenoble and English at the University of British Columbia and completed an MBA with the Australian Institute of Business. She is currently studying Spanish with the Cervantes Institute in Valencia, Spain. Marie-Claire is elected Board of Directors of La Fondation Alliance Française in Paris. She has served on several boards including, the Vancouver Hawks Field Hockey Club, the Advisory Board of the British Columbia Recreation and Parks Association, the Lord Tennyson Parent Advisory Committee, the French Chamber of Commerce in Toronto and Vancouver and the Opportunities and Finance committees of global philanthropists association Social Venture Partners.
